What to Stream This Week: 7 Picks for Every Kind of Tired (Oct 25–31)

What to Stream This Week: 7 Picks for Every Kind of Tired (Oct 25–31)

Some weeks, picking what to watch is harder than the watching. So here's your shortcut, friends: seven picks that are actually new or newly arrived this week, matched to the kind of tired you are. A cozy rom-com that just came back, a full-season action drop for the one who says "just one more episode," a brand-new mystery everybody's going to be texting about, and one finished-series gem that is perfect if you are done waiting a week between episodes. No spoilers, no filler — just press play.

1. For the cozy-weeknight crowd: Nobody Wants This — new season (Netflix)

The sweetest rom-com on streaming is back with a brand-new season. Joanne and Noah — the podcaster and the rabbi who had no business falling for each other — have moved in together, which means a whole new round of funny, tender, "oh no, that's us" couple moments. If your brain is too fried for anything heavy this week, this is your show: warm, witty, and easy to drop into for an episode or three.

2. For the "just one more episode" house: The Terminal List, Season 2 (Prime Video)

Chris Pratt is back as James Reece in the second season of this action thriller — and here's the part that matters for binge planning: all eight episodes dropped at once on October 21, so there is no weekly waiting. Reece is trying to build a new life after finishing his list when the CIA corners him, and clearing his name means stopping a threat that reaches from Moscow to Langley. This is the pick the action fan in your house will claim — clear your Saturday.

3. For the cliffhanger chaser: Lupin — new season (Netflix)

Assane Diop, the gentleman thief inspired by the classic ArsΓ¨ne Lupin stories, is back in a brand-new season of heists, disguises, and "how did he DO that" endings. Every episode closes on a hook that makes "one more" feel medically necessary. It's slick, it's charming, and the Paris scenery doesn't hurt either. Watch it dubbed or subtitled — either way, it's a rush.

4. For the group-chat detectives: Phony, Season 1 (Hulu)

This is the weird one everybody will be talking about. A teenage boy wakes up in the hospital after a car accident convinced that his mom — played by Connie Britton — has been replaced by an imposter. Nobody believes him, so he hires a private investigator to prove it. Part mystery, part comedy, all unsettling in the most watchable way. It premiered October 20 and new episodes land on Tuesdays, so pace yourself — or start now and be caught up for next week's drop.

5. For when you only have 15 minutes: Minimum Wage, Season 1 (Netflix)

Premiering Monday, October 26, this mockumentary sitcom follows the overworked teens running a chaotic local pizzeria under a power-tripping manager (Randall Park, stealing every scene he's in). The magic detail for busy parents: episodes run about 12 minutes each, and the first batch arrives all at once. That's a whole episode in a coffee break, a lunch pause, or the exact length of "hiding in the bathroom for a minute of peace." No judgment — we've all been there.

6. For reality-competition fans: The Mob, Season 1 (Hulu)

Also premiering Monday, October 26: a social-strategy competition set in a grand Italian villa, hosted by Parker Posey. Contestants form rival "crime families," elect a don to control the money, and try not to get "whacked" (eliminated) after movie-inspired challenges. If you love alliance games, shifting loyalties, and yelling at the TV about who should've seen it coming, put this one on your Monday night calendar.

7. The hidden-gem catch-up: Orphan Black — the complete series (HBO Max)

Missed this one the first time around? The complete series is now streaming on HBO Max, and it is the perfect no-waiting binge: a sci-fi thriller about a woman who discovers she is one of many clones, with one actress playing role after role so well you forget it's the same person. Twisty, emotional, and finished — all of it, ready when you are. This is my pick for anyone who says "don't start me on something I can't finish."

How I'd stack the week: Nobody Wants This for weeknights, Minimum Wage for the in-between minutes, The Terminal List or Orphan Black for the weekend marathon, and Phony + The Mob circled on the calendar so you don't miss the new episodes.

What are you pressing play on first? Tell me in the comments — half my watchlist comes from y'all anyway. πŸ’›
